Dare to dream

Diversification is often used when describing a financial portfolio.  An advisor will tell you its best to diversify.  But this discipline can also be applied to our everyday lives.  Why get locked into one way of doing things? Because your parents did it that way?  Or one way of thinking.  Diversify!  

This is not the time to do it like our parents did it.  Work then retire and live off social security.  If you still think that way, haven't you heard, it's time for a change.  For example, most of us pay several bills each month such as a cell phone and rent.  Yet most of us have one source of income or two for couples.  Its time to add other streams of income.

Am I saying to work more?  Yes!  But I can't even find the time to do everything I need to do now.  And I says there's always time.  Something like your hobby can make you extra money even if you only do it on Sunday afternoons.  Incorporate some of your family time into this endeavor.  Use your imagination.  Talk to your kids, they always have ideas and will be happy to be involved in something that was their idea.

It's time to change the way you think about your job, your career, your income and your overall financial health.  Dare to dream!
